The Gallery – King John’s Barn, Cotswolds
The Gallery is one of our three self-catering properties at King John’s Cottages, located at Langley Farm near Leafield and Burford in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
The barn is set in beautiful countryside on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds. You can reach it via a country lane. It sits in an elevated position, giving you uninterrupted views across the Cotswolds.
The barn conversion is part of the larger King John’s Barn with Oak Tree Cottage next door. It has a full-height reception room with a large picture window and many exposed oak beams. The barn was converted to provide modern comfort.
Accommodation
The property has two double bedrooms that can accommodate up to four guests and one infant in a cot. The ground-floor bedroom has a double bed, a built-in wardrobe, bedside drawers, USB sockets, and a deep windowsill with a make-up mirror that offers a rural view.
The upstairs bedroom features a super-king bed that can be converted into twin beds, a window seat with a sheepskin rug, exposed beams, a wardrobe, bedside cabinets, reading lights, and a USB charging socket.
The galleried landing features a desk for working or studying, with views through the large picture window.
Bathrooms & Showers
There is an en-suite shower room on the ground floor. It has a heated towel rail, a WC, and lit mirror with shaver point over the basin. On the first floor, you will find a family bathroom with a full-size bath, handheld shower over, a shower screen, a basin, a WC, a mirror, and a shaver point.
Kitchen & Dining
Enter through the rear door into a neat country-style kitchen. The kitchen has an electric oven and ceramic hob, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a microwave. It also includes a utility area with a washer-dryer, ironing facilities, coat hooks, and a shoe rack.
A latched door leads to the central part of the cottage: an open-plan sitting and dining room with a large window and a high ceiling.
The dining area has a long wooden table that seats up to eight people. The living space contains two sofas, a rocking chair, and a smart TV. There is also a gallery landing area above, featuring a desk and reading space for planning or working remotely.
Reception Areas & Facilities
The Gallery features a tall vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. It includes a desk area, storage, and a bookcase filled with novels and children’s books that overlook the sitting room.
There is a wraparound gravel courtyard with a large oval dining table, eight chairs, and a parasol. You can park up to four cars. A farm fence separates the courtyard from the surrounding fields of livestock, providing a beautiful view of the countryside.
We are pet-friendly and welcome two well-behaved dogs (fees apply). We provide welcome packs that includes bowls, treats, poo bags and doggy towel. The cottage includes Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a children’s highchair, and a cot.
