Situated near Burford in the rural Cotswolds, our family has been offering self-catering holiday cottages for over 20 years. We have the experience to know what guests want and need. You can speak to us and we can personally help plan your stay to make the most of the area for you, your family and your dogs of course.
We are within easy reach of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Cheltenham, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the Wold, Cirencester and Bibury. Daylesford and Diddly Squat are just across the valley as well as Soho Farmhouse.
There is so much to do in the area for all ages. The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Bourton on the Water and the Farm Park to name just a few of the family attractions make this a perfect place to bring the children. You can of course come on your own or with friends just to get away from it all and relax.

About Us and our location in the Cotswolds
Our names all come from King John, who built 'King John's Palace' at Langley. He was first recorded to be here in 1204 using it as an annexe to the world famous Blenheim Palace at Woodstock.
King John's Barn, The Gallery and Oak Tree Cottage, takes its name from the old King John's Oak which was said to be a rallying point for huntsmen in the Wychwood Forest and is marked on many of the old maps. Surrounded by fields, with only a few cottages nearby you can really experience the rural idyll.
We are proud to be farmers here at Langley Farm which was used as a Royal Hunting Lodge for the Wychwood Forest. Now though as a real life working stock farm, you can expect to see sheep and cattle, lots of wildlife including barn owls hunting along the hedgerows, brown hares boxing in spring, and of course there will be some occasional rural smells.
Guests can visit our farm by arrangement but we are very close to Adam Henson's Farm and the Cotswold Wildlife Park. If you want to visit and take your picture at Diddly Squat this is just across the valley.

We are within reach of everything Cotswold including Daylesford, Burford Garden Centre and Soho Farmhouse. The Big Feastival, Wilderness and Cornbury Festivals are all on our doorstep if you don't fancy camping but would like to come home to a real bed and hot shower.

King Johns Barn has previously been awarded SILVER (meaning Good basic environmental practice) by The Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS), which is the largest and most successful environmental accreditation body for tourism businesses in Europe. King Johns Barn does it's utmost to be environmentally friendly and save energy and although we are no longer a member of the GTBS we are always looking at ways to improve on our achievements.
